We posted yesterday that our office will be closed tomorrow, May 8th, for a company wide event. That event is known as Gables Day and is one of our favorite times of the year as Gables Associates. Gables Day is a day we get the chance to volunteer and give back to the community. This year, we will be volunteering at “The Mission of Yahweh” which is an organization that aids and shelters homeless women & children. http://www.missionofyahweh.org/
We will be assigned to various teams who will be improving the Mission’s Thrift Store, Dining Hall and Chapel, Children’s Center, Playground and landscaped areas. Tomorrow can’t come soon enough!

It’s the first week of January and I already have broken my New Year’s Resolutions. I want to drink less, eat healthier food, reduce my coffee intake and exercise more. Sounds like pretty standard New Year’s Resolutions to me. I should be able to keep at least one or two of them.
I can admit that I have a tiny love affair with my smart phone, who doesn’t right? I decided to look for apps that would help me keep my New Year’s Resolutions.
Check out this article to help you find the right app for you Gables Post Oak. Are you going to download any of these apps? Let us know in the comments.

In light of the recent tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary, we were looking for ways that we can help those affected in some way. In doing a Google search of “ways to help Sandyhook” the fist link to populate was a list posted by USA TODAY.
If you feel inclined, you may sign the Sandy Hook Elementary School National Sympathy Card. The card will be delivered to community officials with all the signatures. You can sign that card here.

I recently tried Fogo De Chao and have to say everything was just as great. I have noticed there are more Brazilian Steak places like Villas Grill, Rafain, Boi Na Braza, just to name a few. Have you tried any of these places? If so, what is your favorite Brazilian Steakhouse, Gables Post Oak?

I have never been a wine drinker, but lately I have noticed more and more of my friends are hosting wine parties and attending wine tastings. Now I am not one to always jump on the band wagon, but it seems like a pretty cool culture the more you experience it. I have so much to learn and I want to ask YOU for your help. What are some great wines to try, what wines taste best with what foods? I would love to know your thoughts and what you think is the best. Will you help me out, Gables Post Oak?
